Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bülent Çekiç

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bülent Çekiç, one of the best interventional radiology doctors in Antalya, graduated from İzmir Atatürk High School in 1988. He graduated from Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine in 1997 and completed his final year of medical school (Internship) at Bonn Ren Friedrich Wilhelm University in Germany with a DAAD scholarship.

Between 1997-2001, he completed his Family Medicine Specialization training at İzmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital.

Between 2001-2005, he worked as a Family Medicine Specialist in Nevşehir and İstanbul.

Between 2006-2011, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bülent Çekiç completed his Radiology specialization training at İstanbul Training and Research Hospital. From 2011 to 2013, he completed his mandatory service for radiology specialization in Uşak province.

In 2013, he successfully passed the Assistant Professor exam held by the Ministry of Health and was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Radiology Clinic at Antalya Training and Research Hospital.

In 2018, after meeting the criteria for the Associate Professorship by the Higher Education Council, he was appointed as the Educational and Administrative Responsible in the Radiology Clinic at Antalya Training and Research Hospital as an Associate Professor.

Between 2016-2023, he worked in the Interventional Radiology Clinic at Antalya Training and Research Hospital and specialized in non-vascular and vascular angiographic treatments.

Between 2018-2023, he served as the Educational and Administrative Responsible in the Radiology Clinic at Antalya Training and Research Hospital, and he retired in September 2023.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bülent Çekiç has performed radiofrequency and microwave ablation treatments on more than 6000 benign thyroid nodules, 350 parathyroid adenomas, and 150 thyroid papillary microcarcinomas. He has published six research articles on percutaneous thyroid thermal ablation and presented seven oral presentations at international congresses.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bülent Çekiç has organized 28 training workshops on percutaneous thyroid thermal ablation at the Antalya Training and Research Hospital, attended by 50 radiology specialists from Turkey and 250 doctors from various countries.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bülent Çekiç has also organized 23 training workshops on thyroid thermal ablation for foreign doctors in various countries including Iraq, Morocco, Oman, India, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Libya, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Jordan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Hungary, and most of these countries were introduced to thyroid ablation treatments for the first time by him.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bülent Çekiç has also presented at various international congresses, such as CCMA (China), CIRSE (Denmark, Spain, Portugal), ESIR (Italy), ET (Spain), TRD-TGRD (Turkey), PAIRS (Dubai), FHNO (India), Uzbekistan, on Thyroid Thermal Ablation and Thyroid Arterial Embolization.

In recent years, he has started performing Thyroid Arterial Embolization as a non-surgical treatment option for Plonjuan Goiter and Diffuse Goiter and has treated 150 patients using this technique both in Turkey and abroad.
